The College Station Spirit are excited to announce that goaltender Josh Weber has signed a tender agreement with the team for this season.
Weber is a native of East Grand Forks, Minnesota where he played high school hockey in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). He saw varsity action in three seasons with East Grand Forks High School, serving as the team’s primary goaltender during his junior and senior years. As a starter, Weber led his team to back-to-back Minnesota Class A State Championships. In addition to his team accomplishments, Weber recorded excellent individual stats. As a senior, he posted a 1.49 Goals Against Average (GAA) and a .922 Save Percentage (SV%) in 17 games played.
Speaking about Weber, Spirit Head Coach & General Manager Nick Bydal said, “Josh is a good-sized confident goalie. He stays poised in the crease and makes the saves he should. Josh is a winner and was the backstop for the back-to-back Minnesota State Champions East Grand Forks Senior High. We are excited to have Josh with the Spirit and think he’ll be a very important piece of the team this inaugural season.”
