The Spirit struggled against the Drillers 5-1 in home game

The College Station Spirit struggled against the Louisiana Drillers allowing Mitch Dolese to score a hat trick as College Station crushed Louisiana 5-1 in a home game at Spirit Ice Arena in College Station. Also, the Spirit's defense had a poor night, allowing the Drillers 39 shots throughout the game. The Louisiana Drillers took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Drew Wotta.

Drew Wotta contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Gunner Morgan delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first period, Svondrk opened the scoring for the Spirit with a goal at 7:10 with helpers from teammates Grunkemeyer and Frado.

In the second, Dolese answered for the Drillers with a goal at 7:57 with helpers from Wotta and Smith. Wotta quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:19 with assists from Dolese and Morgan. Dolese deposited a goal at 19:40 with assists from Watzka and Wotta.

In the third, Dolese scored a goal at 0:28 with helpers from Morgan and Smith. Zittel put in a goal at 20:00 with an assist from his defensive partner, Smith.

This loss brings the College Station Spirit’s record to (2-43-0-0).
