The Spirit struggled against the Jr. Stars 5-2 in home game

Drew Pehrson came up big, stopping 52 of 57 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead late in the second on a goal from Matthew Taylor.

Gannen Erickson had a busy night with 2 assists. Matt Greco did his part, adding 2 goals and Nick Sheridan delivered for his team with 2 assists.

In the second period, Brain opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 8:00 with a helper from his linemate Sheridan. Speights put in a goal at 10:15 with helpers from his linemates, Sheridan and Matthews. Kasai finally put the Spirit on the board with a goal at 13:20 with assists from Erickson and Dacey. Taylor answered for Mid Cities with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:31. Greco deposited a goal at 18:46 with a helper from fellow Jr. Stars forward Schulz.

In the third, Butler answered for the Spirit with a goal at 8:18 with assists from his linemates, Grunkemeyer and Erickson. Greco answered for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 18:01 with a helper from his teammate Kesling.

This loss brings the College Station Spirit’s record to (2-34-0-0).
