On June 14th, 2016 the College Station Spirit participated in the NA3HL Draft for the first time in franchise history. Jacob Theis from Chanhassen, Minnesota was the first player ever selected by the Spirit, going late in the 1st round with the 20th overall pick. He will join the seven other players taken by the team in this year’s draft at the team’s final camp later this summer to compete for spots on the initial roster.

Jake Theis – Forward
Theis is a native of Chanhassen, Minnesota where he played varsity hockey for the Chanhassen Storm of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). As a senior last year he had great numbers, registering 16 goals and 15 assists for a total of 31 points in 25 games played.
Round 2, Pick 68
Nate Nelson – Forward
Nelson comes from Hopkins, Minnesota where he played four years of varsity hockey for the Hopkins Royals of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). As a senior last season, the forward put up 14 goals and 14 assists for a total of 28 points in 24 games played.

Andy Carroll – Defense
Carroll is a Minnesota-born defenseman who most recently played for the Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede 18U team. Prior to playing for the Jr. Stampede, Carroll played four years of varsity hockey at Northfield High School of the Minnesota State High School League (NAHL). As a senior in 2014-2015, the defenseman tallied 4 goals and 8 assists for a total of 12 points in 24 games played in the regular season
Round 4, Pick 164
Alec Sara – Forward
Sara is a forward from Cheyenne, Wyoming who last season played in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) for the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings. Prior to his time in Wisconsin Rapids, he played for the Cheyenne Stampede of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). Last season with the Riverkings, he played in 36 games and registered 13 goals and 15 assists for a total of 28 points.

Ian Denning – Defense
Denning is a forward from Houston, Texas who traveled up north to play his high school hockey. As a senior member of the hockey team at Kents Hill School in Maine, he helped his team to a 15-9-1 record.

Dylan Ross – Forward
Ross is a forward who comes from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Last season he did double-duty as a member of the varsity squad at Eau Claire Memorial High School, in addition to playing with Team Wisconsin. In 24 games played at Eau Claire Memorial, he scored 14 goals and added 18 assists for a total of 32 points. Additionally, he had 5 goals and 11 assists for a total of 16 points for Team Wisconsin.

Andrew Holland – Defense
Holland is a defenseman who last season played for the Texas Jr. Brahmas.

Davis Kirkendall – Forward
Kirkendall is a Minnesota-born forward who played for the Honeybaked U18 team program of the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL) last season. Previously, he also played for Wayzata High School (MSHSL) and the Hudson Crusaders (MNJHL).
