The College Station Spirit are excited to announce that defenseman Charlie Weiand has signed a tender agreement to play with the team this season.
Weiand is a native of Rosemount, Minnesota who was a 3-year varsity hockey letter winner at Rosemount High School of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). In 25 regular season games a senior last year, he put up solid offensive numbers from the blue line with 4 goals and 12 assists for a total of 16 points. He also made a few appearances with the St. Croix Valley Magicians of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), registering a goal and an assists in 3 games played.
Speaking about Weiand, Spirit Head Coach and General Manager Nick Bydal said, “Charlie was the first ever tendered player for the College Station Spirit. Charlie is a good skating, smart defenseman. He works extremely hard and has earned everything he has accomplished. We look for him to be the anchor on the back end and be a leader on the ice and in the locker room.”
